Circumstance Cape Coral Mourvèdre 2011

Summer is just so full of life, isn’t it? It is nature’s fresh start, when everything begins anew and blossoms with potential. Here at Waterkloof, there is no better time for us to celebrate our own new beginnings than with the release of our latest vintages – and an exciting addition to our wine range! As always, we’ll let our Cellar Master, Werner Engelbrecht, do the honours. Today, he'll be introducing you to our elegent summer sipper, the Circumstance Cape Coral Mourvèdre 2011.
"Produced from grapes purchased from the Stellenbosch winelands, the Circumstance Cape Coral Mourvèdre 2011 is hand harvested and gently whole bunch pressed, with no further maceration of juice with skins. The 2010/11 growing season will be remembered as one of the driest and windiest in the Schapenberg, leading to lower acidity levels and an earlier harvest. Naturally occurring yeast was allowed to ferment the juice at 14-16 degrees Celcius, over a period of four months. The wine was then left on the lees for another month to add further complexity before bottling. The Cape Coral has a subtle salmon hue and offers delicate spice and herbs on the palate. It's gentle and smooth, with a tantalizingly dry finish, this wine was born to be paired with seafood, sushi and Thai dishes!”
