A modern space featuring spectacular vistas, Waterkloof Wine Estate’s signature restaurant is literally taking quality Winelands dining to new heights. Gorgeously appointed in a glass promontory, the restaurant extends from the chic wine tasting lounge and gravitational cellar. Within its walls, Chef Gregory Czarnecki whets the appetite with contemporary classics, complemented by the estate’s elegant wines.
The restaurant’s open-plan kitchen emphasises the Waterkloof winemaking philosophy of openness and transparency. Although contemporary and stylistically diverse, each of the Waterkloof wines carries a strong core of elegance and integrity, and that is exactly what the food is all about – classical cuisine with a modern French twist.
Chef Czarnecki places an emphasis on using only the freshest seasonal ingredients, such as free-range eggs, farm-reared Schapenberg lamb, and a variety of common and rare herbs and vegetables – many of which are grown and sourced right here at Waterkloof. Please note the menu is subject to change.
Most recently The Restaurant at Waterkloof was awarded the coveted title of Best Restaurant in South Africa by Eat Out Guide during the 2018 Eat Out Awards.
Please take note that from 8th October 2018, we will no longer be offering an a la carte menu, there will now only be the option between two set tasting menus:
Tasting Menu: R 850.00 per person
(R 1050.00 per person with wine pairing)
Degustation Menu: R 1600.00 per person
(R 1900.00 per person with wine pairing)
Please note that our degustation menu closes at 13h30 for lunch and 20h30 for dinner. Only available if ordered by the entire table and no changes permitted.
CHILDREN UNDER 10
For the consideration of our other guests, we cannot accept reservations with children under the age of 10.
We require a pre-payment via credit card or EFT of R300 per person in order to prevent “no-shows”. Should you wish to cancel you booking, we will gladly refund the full amount, provided that the cancellation is no later than 48 hours prior to start of booking. Rest assured that no credit card details are kept on file as the transaction is processed via a Third Party.
Should you have made an EFT shortly prior to booking. As EFTs do take a while to clear, please bring along proof of payment or email document to Chef@waterkloofwines.co.za
Bookings that are not secured with the deposit payment within 72 hours will automatically be cancelled.
In order to confirm your reservation for special events i.e. Valentines, Mother’s Day, Christmas and New Years a deposit is required in full.

10 – 14 guests: You will receive a reduced menu. 15+ guests: you will receive a set menu.
WINTER TRADING AND CLOSURE
The Restaurant will be closed on a Monday and Tuesday from Monday, 8 April until Tuesday, 1 October (re-opening on Monday and Tuesday from 7 October).
We will be closed for winter break between 17 June – 17 July 2019, reopening to the public on Thursday, 18 July 2019.
