HOW… DID YOU MEET?
We met at a braai at Ryan’s house, as our parents were friends from church. I was 14 and he was 15 at the time. We were friends throughout highschool and we eventually started dating after we had both matriculated.
WHY… DID YOU CHOOSE WATERKLOOF?
We wanted our wedding to be a feast of celebration, where we and our guests could enjoy good food, good wine and good company. We were also looking for a venue which had something unique and special to it, as this kind of “X-factor” is what makes the big day that much more spectacular. We felt that Waterkloof offered everything we could have ever wanted in a venue: Delicious food, fantastic wine and outstanding service.
We also loved the building’s unique architectural look & feel, as well as the phenomenal view which just blows visitors away. The fact that the food, wine and appreciation of nature’s beauty are married so delicately together makes Waterkloof a special place for any couple to celebrate their union. Everything Waterkloof had to offer was just breathtaking and getting married at a venue like that, we knew, would make the celebration of our new lives together that much more special.
WHAT… IS YOUR FAVOURITE MEMORY OF THE DAY?
Ryan: Carrying her around from point to point to take photographs was quite a fun experience. Mud and a wedding dress don’t mix!
Terry-Sue: Spending a few quiet moments in between our photographs, taking in the fact that we were married!
Both: Saying our vows at the alter, being announced as husband and wife and our first kiss.
WHICH… DISH AND WINE WERE YOUR FAVOURITES?
The delicious scallop starter and the Circle of Life Red.

WHAT… ADVICE WOULD YOU OFFER TO FUTURE BRIDES?
Try not to let last minute requests, cancellations and changes ruin everything you have been planning. It comes to a point where you’ll have to just go with it, so let go of all of the pre-planned notions that everything will be perfect, and you’ll find that you’ll be more relaxed and able to enjoy everything leading up to and including your special day. It only comes once, so soak it all in – don’t waste a moment because it all goes so quickly!
